The Anacapa School serves students who want a challenging and balanced college preparatory experience in a personal, small school setting. Our admission selection process helps us identify “mission-appropriate” students—those who will contribute to and benefit from Anacapa’s programs. The Anacapa School’s admission standards are selective. As we evaluate prospective students’ applications, we consider each student’s academic performance and potential, special talents and interests, personal integrity, maturity, and sense of responsibility. The Philosophy that has guided The Anacapa School since our founding, organizes the school program into three components: technical knowledge, personal/social knowledge, and critical knowledge.

Santa Barbara Swim Club, the focus of our Club is our children and competitive swimming. The SBSC is a non-profit (IRS5O1-C-3 classification) organization dedicated to the instruction and training in the skills of swimming. Although competitive swimming represents a major commitment of time and energy, on the part of both the participant and his or her family, we feel that there are many rewards, including health promotion, the joy of winning, the strength in losing, social contacts and the excitement of competition and travel. In addition, the values of personal integrity and commitment, as well as achievement through dedicated work are highlighted.

DAWG provides a safe and loving environment for dogs awaiting permanent adoption, and promotes their adoption through outreach programs in the Santa Barbara community. Most of the dogs in our care come from Santa Barbara county shelters. Our primary goal is to reduce the rate of euthanasia in the county shelters by providing the medical care and training many dogs need for a second chance at life.

The Ventura Hillsides Conservancy is a land trust operating in the City of Ventura for the purpose of acquiring open space through gift, sale, or other lawful means. Casa Pacifica opened its doors to abused, neglected and severely emotionally disturbed children in the summer of 1994. During the first two years of operation, efforts focused on program implementation and on sorting out the roles of all participants in this unique public/private partnership. In 1996 the non-public school opened its doors to day students- most of whom were graduates of the residential treatment program but who still required a self-contained, special education school environment.

Hospice of Santa Barbara officially opened its doors in 1974, making it the second oldest hospice program in the United States. Alice Heath, who founded Hospice of Santa Barbara with the help of Altrusa Club and other interested citizens, served as our founding President and first Executive Director.
Today Hospice of Santa Barbara is a volunteer hospice organization- a hospice that emphasizes the emotional, social and spiritual care needs of the terminally ill and their families. As a volunteer hospice organization, we provide all our services free of charge. We do not provide nursing care. We do work closely with all home health agencies, certified hospice programs and private duty agencies to meet the nursing needs of patients.
Ventura City Corp is a non profit community service that exposes youth, ages 12 to 24 years of age, to opportunities that will teach them leadership qualities through hands on training. We partner with other city programs and community organizations to give students opportunities for character development such as personal and social responsibility, honesty, and a sense of self worth. Each project serves as an opportunity for vocational exploration, acceptance of diversity. We encourage and affirm the contributions made by the youth of our community.
